That is the opinion of ESPN FC pundit and legendary Liverpool right-back Steve Nicol.
Higuain is set to join Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the season with an option of a further 12 months.
The Argentine has been Maurizio Sarri’s No 1 striker target this month, with out-of-favour Alvaro Morata set to leave the Blues for Atletico Madrid.
Nicol believes Higuain will have a big impact during his time at Stamford Bridge, so much so that it will maintain Chelsea’s position in the Premier League table.
Chelsea are currently fourth, three points clear of Arsenal and Manchester United who are level on points in fifth and sixth.
United are on a run of seven straight wins under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with six of them coming in the league.
But Nicol is not totally convinced they are the finished article and could easily have lost against Tottenham earlier this month, a game they won 1-0.
He reckons the top four will remain how it is now until the end of the season and says Higuain will play a big part in that.
“I’m not convinced yet, no,” Nicol said of United’s top-four chances.
“Yes they did beat Spurs, we were talking about this ‘they had to beat somebody of note’.
“Well for some reason they won that game but if they had lost by five nobody would have complained.
“They beat Brighton at the weekend.
“So for me, yes they’ve been on a fantastic run, but I’m not convinced yet they can get into the top four.
“I don’t see any change in the top four.
“I’m going on that Higuain does go to Chelsea and that’s why I think the top four right now will stay the same.”
